Mischief Manor Farm has been around
for more than 10 years raising horses, pigs, and sheep as
well as growing fruits & vegetables. The
mistress of the Manor, "Mischief," our
six-year-old Appaloosa, runs the farm.Mischief is the granddaughter of the
famous racehorse Secretariat. While not as fast as
grandpa, Mischief lives up to her name by leveling the
strawberry patch annually, or chewing the tractor seat
during her free time. Luckily, our other four mares
are better behaved or we would have no fruit left to make
our gourmet jams and jellies. Our logo of five
running mares is in their honor.
Our gardens and orchard are tended by
us (two women) organically. The crew of critters in
the barn adds daily to the enormous compost pile.
Our love of gardening and cooking led us to create the
"JAM"boree. We make fine homemade
preserves fresh from our garden to our kitchen to you.
In our "Cordially" Yours
Collection, real cocktails are "Jammed" in a
jar. The alcohol burns off in the cooking, but the
flavor remains. Only the icecubes are missing.
Mischief has instructed us to spice up
the old hot dog and create a diving spread for
sandwiches, basting meats and fish, and for dipping
pretzels. Her mustard collection is doing the job.
All our preserves are made in small
batches with love and care to carry on the tradition of a
forgotten art. Catch us at a country fair and enjoy
the fruits of our labor as Mischief does.
